I am a Chinese girl and I study in Wuyilu Primary School. I get up very early in the morning and then help my mother cook breakfast. After breakfast, I walk to school, because it‘s not far from my house.

I have many friends at school. We often help each other with our lessons.

My mother is forty-six years old, and she works in Meet All Supermarket. It‘s near my school. The supermarket is very big, and it sells all kinds of things. The students in my school often buy school things there.

My father is two years younger than my mother. He is in the same supermarket, but he doesn‘t sell things. He‘s a driver.

My family is a happy one.

Nowadays, there is often a lack of understanding between parents and children. Children always complain that their parents are out of date, while parents can’t approve of what their children say and do. Thus, a big generation gap is formed.

The gap remains wide for many reasons. Children want to be free to choose their own friends, select their own classes in school, plan their own future, earn and spend their own money, and generally run their own life in a more independent way than many parents allow. Also, young children wish to be understood by their parents, but most parents don’t quite understand their children. They regard it as their responsibility to teach their offspring traditional beliefs. They want them to be obedient and do well in school. Therefore, misunderstanding often arise from parents’ tendency to interfere in children’s daily activities.

In my opinion, most problems between parents and children could be solved by joint efforts of both sides to enhance mutual understanding.

"Enough! Enough!"I said when Father and Mother were still giving me more fish ad meat. My bowl was piled up like a little hill.

"Don't study too late into the night. Do be careful of your health. Have you had any examinations recently?"Father asked me in great concern.

My face turned red. I didn't dare to give Father an answer. I hadn't made any progress in my studies. I did badly in all subjects. I only got 60 for maths and failed in physics.

"It doesn't matter. Try to find better study methods and to work harder. I am sure you can enter a college!"Hearing these words, I bent my head down. What a kind father! He didn't scold me, but encouraged me instead.

"Have you used up the money I gave you last night?"With these words, Father was taking his wallet out."Mother has just given me 10 yuan.""Buy something to eat when you are hungry."Father passed me another ten-yuan note.

Should I accept it? Father and Mother love me deeply. Why couldn't I get god marks in exams? Tears came into my eyes.

"Don't cry. Now I will take you to the bus stop."As usual, Father carried that heavy bag and went to his dirty old bike.

When my 14th birthday came,I felt not happy anyway. Because my parents didn't pay any attention to it. I thought they were too busy to remember my birthday.

On the night of that day, I got back home and found nobody. I had to do supper for myself. My tears slipped from my eyes. I felt lonely and sad as if I was abondoned by the whole world. Why they were so busy all day? They didn't care me at all!

When I finished my homework,my parents came back. I said nothing but went to my bed. I closed my eyes but in fact I couldn't fall asleep.

Then I heard my mother came in and sat beside me.

"I'm sorry baby."she said in a low and tiring voice,"I know why you are so unhappy. Sometimes I think I'm not a good mother, but you konw, both I and your fater are busy these days. We always want to make more money .'cause you will go to the senior high school next year. You need more money for the further education..."

I opened my eyes ,and found tears shone in my mother's eyes. I forgave them at once.

Sometimes ,your parents will forget your important days, but now I konw that doesn't mean they don' love you.
